  To start off, I'll say that I'm a liberal progressive Christian, so coming here I wanted to try out something new and different. The people were incredibly warm, welcoming, thoughtful, and willing to discuss about many issues. Their open-mindedness was very refreshing. When it came to the service though, I was a little put back by how traditional and "churchy" it was. I mean, for a very liberal unitarian church, the service was ironically very old-school and traditional. There were hymnal books, we recited things in unison, we sang songs (with only a piano as an instrument), and we stood up and sat down on cue. An athiest buddhist spoke during the sermon, and what he said was very insightful and spiritual, but I wish he would have spoke to us in a jargon that the common person could understand. Overall it was an enlightening experience, and I loved how welcoming and loving everyone was.
